The ethics policy of the Metropolitan Zoological Park and Museum District ("ZMD") has long been a controversial and hotly debated topic among cultural institutions in St. Louis. Today, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that City Counselor Winston Calvert and County Counselor Peter Krane have approved a new ethics policy that will help the ZMD reform its practices and procedures. In a joint letter, Calvert and Krane stated: "We hope that this new policy can be implemented in a manner that continues to reassure taxpayers that the ZMD is operating responsibly.”
